The most important word is FITTING and not measuring:
It is easy to make a calculation based on a mathematical measurement, but having bra correctly fitted is a highly skilled technique. A woman should be fitted every time she buys a new bra and particularly if she is changing brands.
There are two components which make up a bra size:
BODY size and CUP size
There is a formula which can be used, but it MUST be emphasised that this is only a rough guide, and that there is really no substitute for being expertly fitted. |
|
Body Size formula consists of a measurement which is taken directly under the bust and must be a close fitting measurement. If the underband measurement is an even number then add 4 to the figure, eg: 32" + 4 = 36"
If the underband measurement is an odd number, then add 5 to the figure, eg: 35" + 5 = 40"
Cup Size formula consists of a measurement which is taken directly across the full bust, minus the underbust measurement.
Eg: Full bust 34" minus underbust 29" = 5" = A cup
