Susan Macleod, proprietor of specialist
lingerie, nightwear and swimwear specialist, Hide ‘n’ Peek,
recently hosted her first aBRAcadaBRA lingerie party in
a customer’s home in Milngavie.
Around 20 female guests were given the opportunity
to browse through the latest collections available at
Hide ‘n’ Peek, in Stewart Street, Milngavie,
while sampling wines and snacks.
Guests each donated a raffle prize and took part in
a lingerie trivia quiz. In addition, the women guests
made donations to Breast Cancer Care Scotland,
in exchange for holistic therapy sessions from Strathblane-based
therapist, Joy Day.
The women also received leaflets and postcards, offering
advice about breast cancer and the importance of self-examination.
Hide ‘n’ Peek’s inaugural aBRAcadaBra
party raised £170 for Breast
Cancer Care Scotland.
Susan, who donated 10% of her sales from the evening
to the charity, said: “Busy modern women who are
juggling careers and childcare often do not have time
to browse during normal shop opening hours.
“This fund-raising event combined the opportunity
to have a night out with the girls, meet new friends,
treat themselves to something special from our new spring
collection of lingerie, swimwear, nightwear, bags, gifts
and accessories – and, at the same time, raise
money for Breast Cancer Care Scotland.
“I’m delighted that Hide ‘n’ Peek
customers have once again gone out of their way to support Breast
Cancer Care Scotland and helped to raise awareness
of a condition that hasn’t failed to touch most
families at one time or another.”
Volunteers have already approached Susan, offering
to host future fund-raising parties. If you are interested
